SCHOLARSHIP IN IRAN

Pakistani students intend to apply for scholarship to study in the Islamic Republic of Iran should submit the following documents to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad or Consulate General offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.
1-Admission form (duly filled in, it can be downloaded from the Embassy‘s website: www.iranembassy.pk)
2- Translation or copy of attested documents & Mark Sheets (From Higher Education & Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.)
3-Three Introduction Letters for Masters & PhD programs
4- Physical Fitness Certificate) to be free from addiction of Narcotics, AIDS. Hepatitis B & C and should not be physically handicapped)
5-Financial Soundness Certificate in case of Self finance & Semi Self finance
6-A copy of all pages of Candidates Identification Documents (Passport valid for intended study duration)
7- 4 latest photographs (4*6 sizes)
8- Students Visa Application form (can be downloaded from the Embassy‘s website)
9- Age limit 20, 25, 31 years respectively for Graduation, Masters and PhD level programs. For Masters in Theology & Islamic Studies age limit is 28 years.
10- Minimum of 70 % marks

CUCAS Excellent Students Scholarship - for 2011 Fall Semester

CUCAS is now accepting applications for our 2011 fall semester scholarship. The deadline is June 20th 2011. If you successfully apply for Chinese universities through CUCAS, there is an opportunity for you to win a scholarship worth up to $2,000.

ASEAN Millennium Leaders College Student Exchange Program 2011

Full Scholarships covering tuition fee, room and board, roundtrip ticket, and living allowance, will be offered to 30 students from ASEAN Nations who interested to study in the fields of Social Science and ICT at Daejeon University for the year 2011-2012. The program is developed for international exchange students and classes will be taught in English.

Students will be given a chance to attend a 2-month internship programme at the leading organizations in Korea, namely United Nations-Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN APCICT), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Korea-ASEAN Center, Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), Korea Nuclear International Cooperation Foundation (KONICOF), Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, etc.
Admission Requirement:
  • Applicant must be a citizen of ASEAN nations and currently enrolled in College or University.
  • Undergraduate students majoring in Information Technology (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electrics Engineering, Communications Engineering or IT related major) or,
  • Undergraduate students majoring in Social Science Studies (e.g. Economics, Business, Public Administration, Political Science, International Studies) and Korean Studies
  • Applicant must has an excellent academic record (Should be in the top 10% of their classes)
  • Applicant must have a good command of written and spoken English.
  • Applicant must have a good medical record.

PAKISTAN CAPACITY BUILDING SCHOLARSHIPS

Queen Mary is keen to contribute actively to the development of Pakistan's higher education sector and is pleased to announce the creation of two Queen Mary, University of London – Pakistan Capacity Building Scholarships. Each of these scholarships will provide full tuition fees for full time MPhil/PhD study at Queen Mary in one of the following areas:

Eligibility
1.

ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) 


In the Academic Year 2011 beginning in April 2011, GSID will accept Master's Program students sponsored by the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP)
1. Eligibility Requirements and Conditions for Application
1-a. Eligibility Requirements
(1) The applicant must be a national of an ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship. Currently, countries(areas) that are no longer borrowing from ADB are Hong Kong, China; the Republic of Korea; Singapore; and Taipei, China).
(2) The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited/recognized university. In addition, applicants should have completed 16 years of formal education or should have received equivalent education. Those with a bachelor's degree but with less than 16 years of formal education must inquire at the ADB Administrative Office (GSID) to check their eligibility by June 18.
(3) At the time of application, the applicant must have at least two years of full-time professional working experience acquired after obtaining their university degree.
(4) The applicant must not be more than 35 years old at the time of application.
(5) To be considered for admission the following minimum scores are required on one these tests: an overall TOEFL score of 550(paper-based), 213(computer-based), or 79(internet-based); a TOEIC score of 730; or an IELTS score of 6.0(should include Academic Reading and Academic Writing). The test should have been taken within the last two years. Institutional scores are unacceptable for submission.
(6) The applicant must be in a good health.
(7) The applicant living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible for the Scholarship.
(8) Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, officials and staff of ADB, as well as their close relatives, are not eligible for the scholarship.
(9) The Program will, in principle, not support applicants who are pursuing a second master's degree.
1-b. Conditions
(1) In accepting the ADB-JSP Scholarship, scholars must commit themselves to return to, and work in, their home countries for a period of at least 2 years after completion of their studies under the program or when dismissed from the school.
(2) In accepting ADB-JSP Scholarship, scholars consent to the employment restriction policy of the ADB-JSP and acknowledge that they will not be able to work at ADB for two years after completion of their academic programs.
(3) A Scholarship may be terminated upon the recommendation of the GSID at any time for one or more of the following reasons: failure of a scholar to make satisfactory academic progress; failure to comply with the laws of Japan; misconduct; and/or breaches of the conditions of the ADB-JSP or Student Visa.
2. Admission
Openings Department of International Development (DID) and Department of International Cooperation Studies (DICOS): A total of up to eight students can be accepted.
3. Filing Period
Applications will be accepted during the period from July 2 (Friday) to July 15 (Thursday), 2010 by registered mail only (Applications MUST arrive at the office by July 15, 2010). Any applications arrived after this date will not be considered for processing.
4. Required Documents
The following documents should be submitted to the Educational Affairs Division for Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences
(1) Application form with 3 pieces of your photograph attached―the photos should be taken within the last three months and be of passport size and quality.
(2) Certificate of citizenship (or a copy of your valid passport)
(3) Certificates to show your own income and that of your parents or family
Note: If the incomes are not clearly certified, the applicant may be excluded from selection. Please submit authorized certificates issued by public agencies.
(4) Research and/or work experience (on a separate piece of paper)
Note: Attach documents from present / former places of research and work certifying your research and/or work record.
(5) Research Proposal (about 800 words, on a separate piece of paper)
(6) Two confidential letters of recommendation―in sealed envelopes, signed across the flap. Recommendations should be written by people who have supervised applicants in either an academic or work capacity, and who are well acquainted with the intellectual ability and personality of applicants. Preferably, one of the letters should be from a university professor and the other from a senior staff member of your current working office (if there is some reason why your letters of recommendation are not from such people, please include a letter of explanation).
(7) Official transcript from each college-level institution attended―in sealed envelopes, signed across the flap.
(8) Certified copy of diploma or certificate of degree from each college-level institution attended.
(9) TOEFL score, TOEIC score, or IELTS score.
(10) Curriculum Vitae
Please enclose all application materials with the application form when sending the documents to the Educational Affairs Division for Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences. The application and all enclosed materials, including those that arrive at GSID after the deadline, become the property of GSID and will not be returned. 5. Selection Procedures
The Asian Development Bank will select scholarship recipients from the selected candidates who have passed the screening by GSID. The scholarship recipients will be notified through the ADB Administrative Office (GSID), Educational Affairs Division for Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences in early December 2010.
Note: The recipients of ADB-JSP must undertake in writing that they will return to their home countries immediately after the completion of their program of study or when dismissed from the school.
6. Scholarship Coverage and Period
The following expenditures will be covered by the scholarship: full tuition, medical and accident insurance obtained through Nagoya University, a monthly stipend including subsistence and housing allowance for one person (for the Year 2010, the monthly stipend is 154,000 yen; this may be changed for the Year 2011), a book allowance, other miscellaneous expenses and economy class airfare for one person covering the trip from the scholar’s place of residence to Nagoya University and the return journey at the end of the study program. The initial scholarship period is one year from April 2011 - March 2012. The extension of the scholarship for the second year of the program shall be conditional on the scholar maintaining a satisfactory level of academic performance.

Additional Information concerning Accommodation and Japanese Language Proficiency:
GSID will help the scholars with housing arrangements. However, we strongly recommend that ADB-JSP scholars do not bring their families on their initial stay in Nagoya, as family housing is generally very costly and hard to find. Although applicants are not required to have Japanese language proficiency for selection, the ability to communicate in Japanese in daily life situations will be helpful.
